What Is Software ? 
                               Basically, The Software Actual Definition is that "The Programs or other operating information used by the computer " is known as software.
We hear the word in definition is Program. So What is Program. 
Program(Software)
                            A set of Instruction Given to the computer To solve a problem is known as Program(Software). A program is the instruction written by the programmer. Programmer is the Person who writes the instruction.
A Program basically Tell the computer that how to do a task. A computer requires the Programs to perform  the tasks. Without Programs Computer Can't do any thing.
Without a Program????
it's mean Computer require the programs. then definitely there'll be some types of the computer program(Software). So now we'll discuss about Programs(Software)..
There are Two Main types of softwares.
1 : Application Software
2 : System Software
 Now we'll describe them one by one.

Application Software:
                                                                 Application software Is a programs or a set of programs designed for the End user. In other word "Application software are the programs to solve the particular problem of the end user(People)".

Application software helps the people or the end user to solve the problem. it tells itself that how to do a task. There are many (Uncounted) application software are now built. For Example Word Processing, Spread sheets, Powepoint, Adobe photoshop, Corel Draw, etc are the application software which can be used by the all types of people.
It is also called a packaged software for example MS OFFICE is a packaged software.

System Software:
                                                   System software is a Computer software that is designed to operate and control the hardware of the computer system and To provide the running platform for the application softwares. There are two main categories of System Software.
1 : Operating System
2 : Utility Software

Operating System allows the parts of the computer to work together By performing tasks like share information between disks and paths. With the help of System softwares Different parts of the computer can work like VGA, Processor, Graphics, etc. It also allows the running platform to the high level programming softwares.

1 : Windows 
2 : Linux
3 : Mac Operating System  X 

Utility Software Helps to Analyze , Configure, Optimized and Maintain the computer system Such as Virus Protection.
